We know that educators working collaboratively with leaders in public health, health care, business, and local non-profits, can make an incredible impact on the current and future health of their communities. Lifelong health habits, such as good nutrition, physical fitness and stress management, are developed in childhood. Education is also strongly related to improved work and economic opportunities, reduced psychosocial stress, and healthier lifestyles. But educators are extremely busy, managing multiple priorities and programs, and therefore, creating partnerships with educators can be a challenge. Join us as we explore the intersection between health and education with our guest presenter, Miranda Kridler, County Planner, who will share how the Athens County Health Coalition is effectively partnering with five school districts in rural Athens County, Ohio. We will learn how they are focusing on what is important, building on what is working, and moving into implementation of sustainable, evidence informed strategies.
