In honor of the National Day of Racial Healing, this webinar will examine how laws, policies, culture, and norms shape the health of immigrants, migrants and our communities as a whole. Participants will learn about current immigration policies, legal uncertainty, and lived experiences to better understand how people can work together to promote health equity and policy change. Dr. Elizabeth Aranda, director of the Im/migrant Well-Being Research Center at the University of South Florida, and Ivy Suriyopas, vice president of programs at Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, will discuss how shifting legal protections, limited due process, and enforcement practices create chronic fear, instability, and family disruption, resulting in significant physical and mental health impacts.

The webinar will highlight the broader societal implications, emphasizing that threats to immigrant and migrant well-being ultimately impact public health overall. Grounded in solidarity narratives, the session will offer practical strategies for sharing information, elevating stories, and engaging policymakers.

Mark your calendars: Immediately following the webinar at 3 p.m. CT/4 p.m. ET, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour discussion. Join us in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country and share your experiences working toward equity.
