Public health organizations are navigating new restrictions on the language they can use. Practitioners are investing time and resources to assess risk, implement edits, and understand the impact the changes could have on their work.

In this webinar, Dr. Jeff Niederdeppe of Cornell University and Dr. Julie Sweetland of the FrameWorks Institute will explore how language, messaging and framing shape public understanding, influence funding and policy decisions, and impact progress toward health and equity. Drawing on narrative research and science, the webinar includes information from FrameWorks’ Communicating Now: Framing for Health Equity toolkit and insights from the Collaborative on Media and Messaging for Health and Social Policy. Guests will share practical strategies for communicating about equity and justice with clarity and care, including storytelling.

Together, we will learn how to navigate shifting language norms and political pressures.

Mark your calendars: Immediately following the webinar at 3 p.m. CT/4 p.m. ET, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour discussion. Join us in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country and share your experiences working toward equity.
