Broadband access has emerged a pivotal influence on our health. While high-speed internet access has been a well-publicized challenge in rural areas, pockets of segregated urban areas are also disconnected. In this webinar, CHR&R Data and Analytics Team Leader Christine Muganda will demonstrate how users can identify the percentage of households in their county that are connected to high-speed internet. We will also explore the concept of digital redlining and the implications of this practice on residents’ ability to thrive. President and CEO of SA 2020 Kiran Kaur Bains will share innovative strategies that the city of San Antonio has adopted to expand access to bridge the digital divide.

Before attending the webinar, we invite you to explore data on digital redlining revealing how low broadband rates in urban, segregated pockets compound inequities.

County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour interactive virtual discussion at 4pm ET, immediately following the webinar. We encourage you to participate in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country to share your experiences with racial equity. Mark your calendars and plan to stay as long as you're able.
