Support financial institutions providing services to underserved and disadvantaged communities

Apologize for discriminatory housing policies; increase subsidies, financing, and paths to homeownership for people of color; and invest in systematically disadvantaged neighborhoods

Restrict youth under a certain age from being in public places during certain hours, usually at night

Increase the minimum and/or maximum age boundaries for youth to be processed in the juvenile justice system

Organize tours of prison facilities for juvenile delinquents or youth at risk of delinquency and allow them to observe prison life and attend inmates’ presentations; also called juvenile awareness programs

Require school officials to apply predetermined consequences for certain infractions, regardless of situational context or circumstances; consequences are usually severe (e.g., suspension or expulsion)

Support and strengthen residents and communities who have experienced trauma and address effects of community trauma (e.g., poverty, violence, structural racism, etc.) via a comprehensive, multi-stakeholder, and multilevel approach

Adopt universal trauma precautions and provide trauma-specific care to patients in health care organizations

Support a trauma-informed juvenile justice system to recognize and respond to trauma’s impact on youth through staff training and broad adoption of trauma-informed practices and policies

Provide participating high school students with professional opportunities that combine academic and on-the-job training or mentorship
