Inclusionary zoning & housing policies
Require developers to reserve a proportion of housing units for residents with low incomes via mandatory requirements or incentives, such as density bonuses
Incredible Years
Support young children who exhibit or are at risk for behavioral problems with interpersonal relationship training and parents and teachers who are trained to meet their needs
Individual Development Accounts (IDAs)
Support subsidized asset accumulation programs in which deposits by participants with low and moderate incomes are matched by program sponsors; withdrawals must be used for qualified expenses to retain matching funds
Individual incentives for public transportation
Offer incentives such as free or discounted bus, rail, or transit passes, reimbursements, partial payments, or pre-tax payroll deductions to encourage individuals’ use of existing public transit
Individually-adapted physical activity programs
Teach behavioral skills that can help individuals incorporate physical activity into their daily routines
Innovative Findings From Our 2019 Research Grantees
In 2019, three projects were selected for funding, all sharing a common focus: refinement of the current County Health Rankings’ methodology, as well as exploration of novel data sources and health metrics.. We are happy to share out some of the findings from these innovative lines of research.
