Meeting the moment: Navigating a quickly changing public health landscape

Date & time:
July 15, 2025 3pm EDT

Join us for the first webinar in CHR&R’s Meeting the moment three-episode summer series to explore the ways the public health field can organize in the context of recent policy shifts and government restructuring.

We’ll hear from Susan Polan, associate executive director for public affairs and advocacy at the American Public Health Association (APHA), who will describe challenges, opportunities and ways the field has navigated threats to our nation’s health. We’ll also discuss strategies to mobilize power, including APHA’s Speak for Health campaign and spotlight how public health leaders are navigating an evolving landscape.

The Meeting the moment summer webinar series will explore how power and societal rules shape the community conditions that influence health. Together, we’ll examine the current public health landscape and uncover strategies and opportunities to build a strong, resilient public health ecosystem.

Mark your calendars: Immediately following the webinar at 3 p.m. CT/4 p.m. ET, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour discussion. Join us in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country and share your experiences working toward equity.
