Community Spotlights: See Examples of Strategies in Action

Publication date
May 13, 2014

If you’ve used the What Works For Health feature of the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps website, you know that you can easily search for, select, and implement evidence-informed strategies that can improve health in your community. For the 2014 County Health Rankings release, we’ve added Community Spotlights – allowing you to see evidence of strategies in action across the county.

Are you interested in implementing, for example, a Walking School Bus program in your community to promote exercise and improve health? Not only can you find on What Works For Health what the evidence says about that particular program (Scientifically Supported, if you were curious), you can see an example of how it’s being implemented in a community.

We’ve also added some Community Spotlights in the Roadmaps to Health Action Center guides so that you can see how communities have used some of the tools described in the Action Center.
