Suicide serves as an important measure of the mental health of a county’s population. Suicide events have far-reaching impact on the emotional and mental health of surviving friends, family members, and loved ones. Suicide rates increased approximately 36% between 2000–2022, resulting in 49,476 deaths in 2022, which is about one death every 11 minutes.1
