With greater wealth comes greater access to an opportunity for better health. Yet, the ability to build wealth in the United States varies greatly between groups, especially for Black Americans. This difference is called the racial wealth divide and has persisted since the enslavement of human beings. Black Americans have just 10% of the wealth of white Americans. In this webinar, our panel of experts will discuss how this gap began, why it persists, and why traditional pathways to wealth have not closed the racial wealth gap. We will be joined by Michael Stevenson, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps’ Evidence and Policy Analysis team leader and Miriam Axel-Lute, editor of Shelterforce, a digital publication that recently investigated the racial wealth divide. Register today to be a part of this important equity discussion.

This webinar is the first in a two-part series called Unjust and Unfair: Health Consequences of the Racial Wealth Divide.

Register now to join second webinar in this series on June 14, Closing the Racial Wealth Gap with Innovative Solutions

County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour interactive virtual discussion at 4pm ET immediately following the webinar. We encourage you to participate in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country to share your experiences with equity. Mark your calendars and plan to stay as long as you're able.
