Positioning public health to respond to gun violence

Series:
Date & Time:
November 14, 2023 3pm EST

While gun-related suicides and homicides have reached record numbers, the American Public Health Association has declared gun violence a preventable public health crisis. Join our November webinar to learn strategies from Cure Violence Global (CVG), which has developed a community-based model to reduce violence and gun-related incidents. CVG’s executive director, Dr. Monique Williams, will explain how the model works and the evidence behind it. We will also hear from Rana Epps from the King of Kings Foundation to understand how CVG’s model has helped reduce violence in Jamaica Queens, New York, and build its young residents’ conflict resolution skills.

County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour interactive virtual discussion at 4 p.m. ET, immediately following the webinar. Participate in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country to share your experiences working toward equity. Mark your calendars and plan to stay as long as you're able.
