Tomorrow (Tuesday, September 17, 9 p.m. Eastern), Kentucky Educational Television will air a program looking at how communities are taking the data from the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program and are making positive change.

The Health Three60 program, “Healthy Competition: How County Health Rankings Are Catalyzing Change,” features three regions of the state to “discuss how innovative strategies, relentless analysis of data, and a little competitive spirit can bring about improved health outcomes,” according to the program. The programs featured are the Partners for Health coalition in Grant County, the No Smoking grassroots drive in Hardin County and the Outdoor Adventure initiative in Rockcastle County.

“The KET Health Three60 features three counties with widely different County Health Rankings ranging from a high of 13 to a low of 89. By highlighting success stories from each of these counties we hope to engage communities from all counties in Kentucky to come together and create roadmaps to improve health outcomes in their area,” said Sarojini Kanotra, project director for the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Chronic Disease Prevention Branch, of the Kentucky Department for Public Health – one of the featured experts on the program.

The show is a great example of local health advocates sharing their stories of how communities can come together and spur action to boost health. Visit this link to learn more about the show and be sure to bookmark it to watch the program online after airing.
