Transforming Narratives to Create Racial and Health Equity

Narratives around race can give rise to policies and systems that exacerbate and reproduce inequities. The result can create stark differences by race in how well and how long people live.

Just what are narratives? How are they created? Why is it important to transform them? We will explore these questions and more during this webinar. You also will gain resources and examples that will help you create  and transform narratives to advance equity.

We are pleased to welcome three racial equity advocates to this webinar:

  • T. Gonzales, Director of the Center for Health Equity at the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness
  • Jonathan Heller, Senior Health Equity Fellow at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and co-founder of Human Impact Partners
  • Paula Tran Inzeo, Director of Mobilizing Action Towards Community Health (MATCH)

This webinar is the second in a two-part series called Advancing Racial Equity, co-produced by County Health Rankings & Roadmaps and MATCH. Be sure to watch the first webinar in this series, Declaring Racism as Public Health Crisis , now available on demand. If you are a community health practitioner, resident, or decision maker with an interest in achieving equity in your community, we encourage you to register for each of the webinars in the series.

County Health Rankings & Roadmaps will host a one-hour interactive virtual discussion at 4pm ET, immediately following each webinar in this series. We encourage you to participate in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country to share your experiences with racial equity. Mark your calendars and plan to stay as long as you're able!
