County Health Rankings & Roadmaps is launching a special webinar series, Health Equity and Social Solidarity in the Time of Pandemic: Strategies for COVID-19 Response and Recovery.

As the United States faces unprecedented economic hardships and an intensified focus on income inequality due to COVID-19, what innovative approaches are communities taking to build economic resilience among residents?

The first webinar of the series will highlight how Stockton, California is using the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED), a no-strings-attached, guaranteed income pilot program, to empower residents financially, address poverty, and reduce income inequality. Featured guest Sukhi Samra, Director of SEED, will share how this program came into existence, insights and tools to support communities considering a similar program, and emerging findings from a team of independent evaluators and researchers on the program’s impacts on the financial, physical, and emotional-wellbeing of participants.

Register now to learn more about how this community is putting innovative solutions to work to address long-standing issues of financial stability and emerging challenges arising from COVID-19. We will host an interactive virtual discussion immediately following the webinar and encourage you to participate in an engaging dialogue with peers across the country to share your experiences navigating the pandemic and your thoughts on how this strategy may work in your community.

Please note: The views of the speakers are their own.
