This week County Health Rankings will attend the National Association of County and City Health Officials’ (NACCHO) annual meeting in Hartford, Conn., July 20-22.

If you are attending the conference, be sure to stop by our booth in the exhibit hall or attend our session: “Relationship of Law and Policy to the County Health Rankings: Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health” on Thursday, July 21, 10-11:30am in Room 14.

The session will provide an introduction to the County Health Rankings and how this tool can be used to discuss with legislators a wide variety of policy issues that affect health; including behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors and the physical environment. Additionally, Mary Kushion of the Central Michigan District Health Department will describe how her community responded to its low ranking by collaborating to lay a foundation for continued health improvement efforts, including upcoming policy initiatives.
