Breaking Down the Rankings Model: Tobacco and Alcohol Use
Tobacco use and excessive drinking are both leading causes of preventable death in the United States. Over 20% or the US adult population currently smokes cigarettes and 15% of adults drink excessively. The burden of tobacco use and alcohol are taking a large toll on the health of our local communities throughout the United States.
On this webinar, Angela Russell, Community Engagement Lead of the County Health Rankings, and Maureen Busalachhi, Executive Director of Health First Wisconsin will review why tobacco and alcohol use are included in the County Health Rankings, review the overall national burden of tobacco and alcohol use, and discuss strategies that are being used to reduce tobacco and alcohol use.
