These data sources provide information for communities looking for more local data. These sources provide either unique, local data; more information on demographic breakdowns (e.g., age, sex, race/ethnicity); or data for sub-county geographic units (e.g., cities, zipcodes or school districts).

The report serves as a tool to examine health measures individually and allows each county, regardless of their overall health ranking within Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) & University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute’s (UWPHI) County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, to identify both areas of strength and weakness that contribute to its health experience.

Health Information Tennessee

Health Information Tennessee provides a variety health and population statistics in the form of tables and reports. The data access tool can be used to customize on-line queries of case-level: death, birth, survey, and facilities data at county, regional and statewide levels.

Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations

The county profiles contain a variety of health data, including: demographics, income, mortality rates, pregnancy and birth rates, employment, and education.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

The crime data on this site are copied live nightly from the Tennessee Incident Reporting System database. The live data is updated at least monthly by agencies and includes: crime, arrest, victim, property and drug crime data.

Tennessee Cancer Registry

The Tennessee Cancer Registry strives to present the most complete, accurate, and timely reports of cancer data for Tennessee.

Tennessee Chronic Disease Profiles

The Chronic Disease Health Profile is a comprehensive set of data profiles on select chronic disease indicators, including: demographics, prevalence of diseases, mortality, hospitalizations, incidence of major chronic diseases and their risk factors.

Tennessee Department of Education

The annual Report Card is a comprehensive showcase of state, district, and school-level data for each school year. The Report Card includes: demographics, achievement results, accountability progress, value-added data, attendance figures, graduation rates, and more.

Tennessee Department of Education - Youth Risk Behavior Survey

The Youth Risk Behavior Survey monitors priority health risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disability, and social problems among youth and adults in the United States.

Tennessee Department of Health - Hospital Discharge Data System

Contains information on patient diagnoses, procedures performed on the patient, charges for services provided, and select patient demographics.

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security

This section contains Tennessee traffic crash data and statistics. It includes information regarding traffic fatalities, injury, and property damage crashes; as well as crashes involving teens, seniors, alcohol, deer, and other contributing factors. Some data is available by county.

Tennessee Environmental Public Health Tracking

The Tennessee Department of Health is in the early stages of building our EPHT website. Over time, the amount of and type of data available will increase.
