New River Valley: Healthy by Design Transforms and Empowers Community Youth
Over the past several years, Roadmaps to Health Grantees have made significant differences in communities across the country. Funded in 2011, the New River Planning District worked with local teens to break down cycles of unhealthy and self-destructive behaviors. These youth ambassadors utilized digital media and storytelling skills to develop a video ad campaign to promote healthy living and share their own personal stories. The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps website now features an update on the New River Valley Project and includes links to some of the student videos.
