Breaking Down the Rankings Model: Tobacco and Alcohol Use

Publication date
April 18, 2013

Tobacco use and excessive drinking are both leading causes of preventable death in the United States. Over 20 percent or the US adult population currently smokes cigarettes and 15 percent of adults drink excessively. The burden of tobacco use and alcohol is taking a large toll on the health of local communities throughout the United States.

On the first of a new webinar series "Breaking Down the Rankings Model," Angela Russell, Community Engagement Lead of the County Health Rankings, and Maureen Busalachhi, Executive Director of Health First Wisconsin, will discuss why tobacco and alcohol use are included in the County Health Rankings and proven strategies to reduce use in your community.
