Knowing where your county ranks in your state in terms of health is important – but taking action and improving health for you and your community is just as crucial. To that end, the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps website has a variety of tools and information to get you started on furthering your work to bring residents together on health issues. Here are some additions and new enhancements that recently went live on countyhealthrankings.org:

Improved search on What Works For Health (WWFH): WWFH is a resource to find information on and ratings for health improvement strategies. Finding what you want is easier thanks to improved capacity that will make your searches more relevant than before.

Narrow your search by selecting an approach on WWFH strategies: Getting started with WWFH is easier with “Approach” links that show common methods of addressing particular health factors. When you click on a factor to learn more (such as Alcohol Use) you’ll see an Approach column arranging strategies by alternative approaches to action.

Sorting through Community Stories: See what other communities have implemented to improve health in our Stories Section. Now you can sort through the stories to find those that address different steps in the Action Cycle, types of strategies they are utilizing, what partners they’re working with, and more.
