Upcoming Webinar: Building Healthy Communities Through Parks

Summer is here! It's time for us to take our bikes out of storage, camp under the stars, canoe down a river and join a pick-up game at our local park. Quality and safe parks are a great way to increase opportunities for physical activity and to build a healthier community.

On July 12, Zarnaaz Bashir of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and Andrea Ramos of the North Miami Parks and Recreation will be the featured speakers on the County Health Rankings Webinar - Building Healthy Communities through Parks. Ms. Bashir will provide an overview of NRPA, discuss NRPA's role with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's ACHIEVE program, and discuss steps that you can take to improve access to parks and recreational facilities. Ms. Ramos will discuss how the City of North Miami, Florida, increased access to parks in her community.
