NACo Selects Six Counties for Community Dialogues to Improve County Health

This week, the National Association of Counties (NACo) announced the six counties selected to participate in NACo Community Dialogue to Improve County Health sessions. In collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, NACo will facilitate one-day dialogues in these communities. The six sessions will be held in participants’ respective counties throughout 2014, and will convene officials and community stakeholders to assess, plan, and strategize health initiatives to improve the overall health of county residents. The six communities selected for community health dialogues are:

  • Bullitt County, Ky. (2010 pop., 74,319)
  • Fulton County, Ga. (2010 pop., 920,581)
  • Leon County, Fla. (2010 pop., 275,487)
  • Salt Lake County, Utah (2010 pop., 1,029,655)
  • Washington County, N.C. (2010 pop., 13,228)
  • Wayne County, N.C. (2010 pop., 122,623)

The counties were selected from NACo’s solicitation for applications throughout September and October. Individual dates have not been set for the sessions.
