Local Health Department Uses County Health Rankings to Develop Position Description

There are many ways that the County Health Rankings can be used to ignite local change. But have you ever considered using the Rankings in a position description for a job?

Well, the Health Officer of the Marquette County Health Department in Wisconsin did just that. Nathan Luedke, Health Officer of Marquette County, used the County Health Rankings to help prioritize the activities of a newly created health educator position. Ranked 71 out of 72 counties in Wisconsin, Marquette County faces a number of health related challenges. Using the Rankings as a foundation for the job description, the health educator position will focus on obesity prevention, improving the built environment, economic development and education.
